Get More Referrals for Your Real Estate Business – 5 Thoughtful Ways to Increase Them

As a Real Estate Professional, you know that referrals are an important part of growing your business. After all, word-of-mouth marketing is one of the most effective ways to bring in leads and close more deals. In this blog post we'll outline five thoughtful ways to get more referrals for your real estate business -- from creative networking tactics to cranking up customer service -- so you can start getting the positive recommendations needed to help build your brand and boost revenue.

1. CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Utilizing a Great CRM will help you create a roadmap to success through staying in touch with your existing clients or your personal network. There are some great CRM's that are inexpensive and even some free options out there. I could write a whole post on this topic alone. A lot of times Brokers will provide a solid CRM for you, however, if they do not, I recommend taking a quick course on utilizing a CRM for your business. This will no doubt create some inspirational ideas for you!

2.Networking (I know this can seem obvious....but, what if there were a tried and true systematic way to do this) Here is the tip of that iceberg, Search for local community events and community organizations, Attend 3-4 per month as a volunteer and watch something magical happen. I know this is a hard one for people to do sometimes, but the conversations with the fellow volunteers and community members always turns to, "what do you do for a living" and you would be amazed at how many people want to help you succeed!  This one could be another blog post altogether as well, but give it a try and see results very quickly. 

3. Lunch with existing clients, this seems like a silly way to get referrals, but if I invited you to lunch 3 months after our closing, how likely would you refer me to any buyer or seller looking for an agent. Simple, easy, and creates amazing referrals! 

4. Handwritten Thank You cards, you don't even have to actually have to write the notes (my handwriting might offend some people). There are services that will help with this, a quick internet search will provide people that do this, or do what I did and hire someone that had beautiful handwriting off of Social media for $.50 per note. Also, remember back to the last time you received a handwritten note, it makes you feel different than some stock thank you card. 

5. Memorable Closing Gifts: When you give a closing gift to someone that is personalized and hand crafted, it creates a memory for them that sticks out. Also, better yet, if that closing gift is something they see or use daily, you best believe you will leave a lasting impression on your Special Clients!!
